I have given my life to discipling men and women in their walk with the risen Christ. My heart’s desire has been to introduce them to the lifelong pursuit of the power of an eternal perspective in every component of life.

One such relationship started 53 years ago with the author of this book.

I met Charlie, a new believer in Jesus when I was at Dallas Theological Seminary. Over those years, as Charlie would put it, “The Spirit of God used you and your ministry as my spiritual ground of being many times over those years.” Those are encouraging words for a discipler to hear.

This book explores the dramatic dilemma of human sin and divine grace from Genesis to Revelation. God is the Sacred Romancer who pursues, provides, and protects His beloved, and the Scriptures reveal the awful cost He paid for our redemption from the bondage of sin, the law, and death so that we could be set free to walk in His light, life, and love.

It illuminates three of Jesus’ profound questions that I now stop and consider several times a day:
